Who We Are

We are a Southern Baptist Church in Mebane, NC that attempts to glorify God by obeying Jesus’ command to make disciples of all people. We believe God has a purpose and plan for every person. Our desire at EBC is to help you experience God’s love and discover that unique purpose and plan He has for your life.

We do this by trying to keep the Gospel central in everything we do. As Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:3, we believe that the Gospel is of “first importance” so we should constantly reflect on it and base our lives and ministries around it.

There are a lot of things people seek in a church, and there are a lot of things we could do, but we have purposed to keep the Gospel the main thing. Therefore, our message is clear and simple. We believe that the hope for Mebane and the surrounding communities is the Gospel; we believe that it is the “power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).

Our focus and purpose is to saturate this community with the “good news” about Jesus by proclaiming it individually and as a church through our actions and words. This is who we are growing to be through Christ working in us.

Worship Schedule

  • Indoor service will be on Sunday, at 10:00 am.
  • The service will take place in the Flynn Center. This building provides us the best option for proper ventilation and social distancing.
  • Families (and friends) will stay together as a “quaranteam”. Round tables with six chairs at each table will be placed through the Flynn Center. Tables and chairs will be sanitized following the service.
  • Six feet social distancing and face masks are requested and encouraged.
  • Childcare is not available at this time. We encourage children of all ages to join us for worship. As pastor and author Robert Morgan wrote: “Families should worship together. Children best learn to worship by watching their parents and grandparents do it.” Feel free to bring coloring books and other activities that can be enjoyed as your child watches, listens, and learns.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available.
  • An offering plate will not be passed during the service. There will be a clearly marked, designated box to place your tithes and offerings at the main door as you are entering and leaving.

Please know we respect your decision to make choices that are best for you and your family. We are offering an indoor worship service but that does not mean you should attend. This decision is up to each family and individual. In light of this, we will continue to provide “Shelter in Place Sunday” videos. The same sermon you watch on the video will be the same sermon presented on Sunday mornings
