Who We Are
We are a Southern Baptist Church in Mebane, NC that attempts to glorify God by obeying Jesus’ command to make disciples of all people. We believe God has a purpose and plan for every person. Our desire at EBC is to help you experience God’s love and discover that unique purpose and plan He has for your life.
We do this by trying to keep the Gospel central in everything we do. As Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:3, we believe that the Gospel is of “first importance” so we should constantly reflect on it and base our lives and ministries around it.
There are a lot of things people seek in a church, and there are a lot of things we could do, but we have purposed to keep the Gospel the main thing. Therefore, our message is clear and simple. We believe that the hope for Mebane and the surrounding communities is the Gospel; we believe that it is the “power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).
Our focus and purpose is to saturate this community with the “good news” about Jesus by proclaiming it individually and as a church through our actions and words. This is who we are growing to be through Christ working in us.
EBC WEEKLY DEVOTION
It takes time to get into the habit of doing a daily devotion (praying and studying your Bible). At first, the benefits may not seem obvious, but once devotions become a part of your daily life, you will see they help you grow closer to God as you focus on Him throughout your day. To help with this, we will send out a weekly devotion EVERY SATURDAY that can be done as a family or individual. These devotions focus on drawing all of us closer to Christ. Make sure you check your email or our Facebook page to read the latest one.
Sunday Morning Schedule
EVERYONE is invited to join us Sundays for Bible Study @ 9 am and our Worship Service @ 10 am.
WHAT TO EXPECT @ 9 AM BIBLE STUDY
NURSERY is offered for little ones 3 years old and younger.
“226 FOR LIFE’ meets every Sunday Morning from 9:00 am to 9:45 am! We welcome kids ages 4 years old through 5th grade to join us for an energetic and interactive time of Bible discovery, games, experiments, crafts, and more. Our focus in “226 For Life” is to foster in our kids an authentic love for God that is rooted in the truth of Scripture by building intentional relationships with them.
“CONNECT” is for MIDDLE SCHOOL and HIGH SCHOOL aged students (6th – 12th grades) and it meets every Sunday in their “own space”. This is a great opportunity for this is group to fellowship and discuss a variety of topics from the Bible’s perspective.
“OASIS” meets every Sunday in the FLC and provides a great opportunity for adults to enjoy fellowship and grow together through a simple Bible study.
WHAT TO EXPECT @ THE 10 AM WORSHIP SERVICE
WHERE DO I GO?
The service begins at 10:00 am in the Flynn Center. Don’t worry if you are not sure where that is! You will likely be greeted by someone as you walk up, and they will be glad to help.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
What you wear isn’t important. People wear anything from jeans to suits, but mostly you will see people dressed in a relaxed, everyday style.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
Families and friends sit together at round tables. We think this provides a great relational environment that encourages worship.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
Nursery is available for children up to 3 years of age. Children 4 years and older join us for worship. As pastor and author Robert Morgan wrote: “Families should worship together. Children best learn to worship by watching their parents and grandparents do it.” Feel free to bring coloring books and other fun stuff that can be enjoyed as your child watches, listens, and learns. And don’t forget to visit the Crafted Corner every week for new activities designed just for our kids! No matter how scary this may sound, please know we provide an environment where children are welcomed and wanted in worship with us.
WHAT IF I CAN’T ATTEND?
We understand that you may not be able to attend this service for a variety of reasons. In light of this, we will record and make available portions of the worship service through email, Facebook, and the EBC website.
