All activities at EBC are postponed through April 30

April 30 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

On March 30, we informed you that all activities at EBC would be postponed until April 12 due to local, state, and national recommendations and mandates concerning the spread of the coronavirus. Our response was and will continue to be supporting ongoing efforts to prevent a dramatic outbreak in our community that has overwhelmed the health care system in many major cities. While this situation has continued to rapidly evolve, the mandatory, statewide “stay-at-home” executive order issued by Governor Cooper and the national government’s “Social Distancing Requirements” remain in effect until the end of April. Once again, I believe Romans 13:1-7 and Acts 5:27-29 provide a clear biblical framework for Christians to follow the government God places over them as long as it does not contradict His Word. With this in mind, EBC will continue to suspend all activities through the end of April.

So many of you have expressed how much you miss our fellowship, worshiping together, and collectively serving our King as one body, but you know these actions are necessary. While we me not enjoy it, practicing social distancing appears to be the most effective response. I encourage you to continue to pray biblically and passionately with expectations that we will continue to see God reveal His glory practically, tangibly, and personally. Pray for God’s provision and protection for those on the “front line” like our health care providers, those preparing meals for those in our community, and others in service industries like nursing homes and postal workers. Pray for those who have been dramatically impacted over the last several months financially, emotionally, or through the loss of a love one. Pray for your family, neighbors, and church and ask God to give you opportunities to join Him in the work He is already doing around you and show His love to them in practical, tangible ways.

Most importantly, I encourage you to redeem this time and use it to grow closer to Christ. Spend time reading and studying your Bible every day. Pray with the intention of allowing your King to bring you into a deeper fellowship with Him. And as you grow closer to Him, may He reveal to you His unlimited love, unwavering commitment, and unmatched power, glory and holiness. May He give you His contentment and peace so that your worry will not overshadow your faith. May He reveal Himself to you in such a mighty way that when this is over, these trials will become testimonies of Christ’s faithfulness that you will proclaim WHEN we meet together again and glorify Him name.

As we continue as His church united through Him during this time, continue to pray, be encouraged by His presence, and seek opportunities to shine for Him. Please contact us know if we can help you in any way. We love you, we are family, and know we walk together as children of the King.
